Make Money Online with Affiliate Programs Part 1 (Introduction to the Different Types of Affiliate Programs)

Today, affiliate marketing programs is seen as one of the most important methods by online companies and merchants to market their products and services because implementing an affiliate program doesn't cost much money and it helps generate a consistent stream of online profit.

On the other hand, the affiliates see affiliate marketing as a feasible and low cost method to make online online by promoting other people products using a website or without a website (using Google AdWords PPC advertising program).

There are many affiliate programs on the Internet and not all of them are similar. The most basic affiliate programs fall into 3 categories:
  • Pay Per Performance
  • Pay Per click
  • Residual Income Affiliate Marketing Programs

Pay Per Performance
Pay per performance (PPP) affiliate programs are what most companies and online merchants likes to use. The companies only need to pay when an affiliate referral translates into an action. The action can be a purchase or a lead. The affiliates will spend their own money to promote the affiliated company's products, This save a lot of money for the company. PPP affiliate programs can be futher classified into 2 sub-categories:

  • Pay Per Sale (PPS) The title says it all. The company only pays the affiliate when a visitor referred by the affiliate make a purchase.
  • Pay Per Lead (PPL) PPL is a little different to PPS. PPL affiliate programs usually used by finance and insurance companies. In this type of affiliate marketing, the affiliate will be paid a fixed commission whenever a visitor referred by him/her to the merchant's website requested a quote or filled up an online application form.

Pay Per Click (PPC)
Affiliate ProgramsPPC affiliate programs are most popular. You should have heard them a lot. PPC programs are probably the easiest way for web publishers to make money from their websites and blogs. The affiliate gets paid a certain amount ($0.05 to $0.50 usually) whenever a visitor click a banner or text ad displaying on the affiliate's website. PPC typically used by contextual advertising companies like Google AdSense, Yahoo Publisher Networks and much more.

Residual Income Affiliate Marketing Programs
In this type of programs, the affiliate not only compensated for every customer referred to the merchant's website, the affiliate is also paid whenever the referred customer returns to the site and buy another product.

The different types of affiliate marketing programs would deffinitely work differently for merchants and affiliates, and each would have their own advantages and drawbacks. To find out which types of programs work best for you, you'll have to know which one of them suit your need and characteristic most. And then start testing them.

Make Money with Text Link Ads

Text Link Ads is a growing company that currently sells the text link and RSS feed ad space of over 10,000 publishers. These small ads can be customized to make them very unobtrusive, and are a great way to simultaneously monetize a blog or forum and increase its search engine links without drastically altering the site’s appearance. The owners of Text Link Ads recently started a new site, ReviewMe.com, which pays bloggers to review advertisers’ products and services. Simultaneously, however, they have continued to improve Text Link Ads and to add more features, making their network very successful in selling advertisements and monetizing sites.

Features
Text Link Ads offers three ways for publishers to make money from their sites: by posting text link advertisements on the site itself, by inserting these ads into the site’s RSS feeds, or by becoming an affiliate.

Text link ads on a website can be used in conjunction with the ads of other networks and are sold at a flat rate per ad for a 30 day run on the site. The price asked for an ad space is determined by Text Link Ads based on a pricing algorithm that factors in the site’s traffic, theme, and link popularity. Publishers cannot set their own prices at this time. This can prove to be a problem, as prices set too high may discourage advertisers from buying the ad space. A similar problem was encountered at ReviewMe.com, but the companies’ owners have since allowed publishers to choose to set their own prices on that site. So far, this improvement has not found its way to Text Link Ads, which continues to require that the network set the prices.

Text Link Ads newest innovation on this ad network is the addition of post level text link ads that allow publishers to put ads at the ends of individual entries. Pricing for these ads is automatically set lower than regular homepage ads.

The second form of advertising handled by Text Link Ads is what they call “feedvertising,” or putting text link ads at the bottom of a blog’s RSS feeds. Currently this feature only works for WordPress blogs, but the network says that it will soon expand its compatibility to include other blog types. Publishers have the option of choosing not to opt in to this feature; they can also put this software to personal use and choose not to sell their ad space through Text Link Ads.

In addition to these features, Text Link Ads also has some neat tools for publishers on its site. The Text Link Ads Calculator figures out the amount that the network would charge for a link on a site given its address, number of link spots, website category, whether it will be a site wide or single page ad, and the position of the ad. No signup is required, so this is a good way to get a feel for the network’s pricing before joining. Another tool offered by Text Link Ads is the Blog Juice Calculator, which shows the rating of a blog among others in its general category when the site’s address is input. Again, no signup is required to use this tool.

Controls
Accounts at Text Link Ads are run using a simple control panel that is accessed by logging in at textlinkads.com. Through this panel, multiple sites can be managed as a single account, as can both text link and RSS feed ads.

To market their ad space, publishers must create a description of each website that Text Link Ads represents that includes the site’s name, description, category, Alexa rating, number of pages the ad will appear on, link popularity, and the number of filled and available ad spots. This is made easy, however, by the simplicity of the control panel, which walks users through these steps. Feedvertising can also be set up as an extension of this process, with publishers simply selecting that they would like to participate in this campaign and choosing how many of the ads they would like Text Link Ads to sell for them and how many they would like to keep for personal use. This information is added to the site description for prospective advertisers to view.

Also via the control panel, publishers can pick the approval system they would like to employ to manage their advertisements. With option A, Text Link Ads will autonomously approve ad campaigns for the site when they are offered by advertisers, although these can be cancelled by the publisher if they choose. Ads never contain adult, illegal, or gambling content, so this method is generally sufficient for most publishers. With option B, the site’s publisher is emailed each time they receive a new campaign offer. This offer is automatically approved within 24 hours by the ad network so the publisher will not miss out on campaigns if they miss the email, but it does offer some advance notice of ad sales. Codes for campaigns are generated through the control panel.

The control panel also offers publishers a way to edit the appearance of their text link ads. They can choose the color of the ads’ border, background, and link. They can also specify the number of ads in a row and the language in which these ads will appear. Previews of any changes made are displayed in the control panel, which makes it much easier to get an ad to look just right. The advertisements’ formatting can also be different on each of a publisher’s sites.

Available Types and Formats
Publishers can control the format of their text link ads, specifying their size, color, quantity, and number of columns. RSS feed text link ads can also be customized; publishers may change what heading they appear under, as well as the way they look.

Reporting
Revenue reports are available through the control panel. They are updated daily and prorated to take into account the earnings of campaigns that are still running. Earnings can be viewed by month or by site, as well as totals, and are separated into the various campaigns. A publisher may also view their payment history here.

How to Get Started
In order to join the Text Link Ads network, publishers must complete an online application, which should take the network approximately 24 hours to review. If the site is approved, they can then create descriptions of their sites, which will begin being screened by potential advertisers 1-3 days after their completion. When a site is chosen to run an ad campaign, the code for that campaign is generated through the control panel according to the publisher’s specifications and can then be placed on the site.

Payment
Text Link Ads has a reliable and convenient payment system. Unlike many ad networks, this company does not have a minimum monthly payment amount if publishers choose to be paid via PayPal. Payments are made on the first of the month for all revenue generated the previous month, including partially completed campaigns. For publishers who choose to receive their payments by check, however, there is a $25 minimum. If the publisher’s sites have not generated that much revenue in a month, their earnings are rolled over into the next month until they have reached $25.

Text Link Ads gives its publishers 50% of the sale price for each ad they sell. This includes homepage ad links, post level ad links, and RSS feed ad links.

Referral Program
Text Link Ads has a simple referral program where publishers receive a one-time $25 reward for any referred advertiser that results in a sale, or for any referred publisher who applies to be represented by the network and is approved. These referrals are made through links that publishers may place on their sites and are processed automatically.

While shared revenue would be preferable to $25 CPA, Text Link Ads does have nice referral report features. Each referral is displayed by date, customer name, and even the exact URL where the conversion took place to help publishers find what links or pages are converting best.

More Information and Support
Support at Text Link Ads is polite and responsive. They are reachable by either phone or email. New developments are announced in the site’s blog, which is accessible from its main page.

Summary
Text Link Ads is a good alternative to blend in with other ad networks in order to fully monetize a site. It pays good rates for the relatively small amount of ad space, and its customization options make its ads unobtrusive. The biggest problem with this network is that it bans publishers from adjusting their prices when the network sets them too high. In spite of this, many sites could possibly benefit from the services it offers.

Site Monetizing Depending on Traffic

Let’s talk about how you can make income from your site or blog. Today, there are hundreds of ways of site monetizing, but the problem is in it’s profit. I want to disassemble all monetizations by the site’s traffic volume criteria. Let’s begin.

1-100 visitors. If you have a good site with a great contents or blog with interesting articles, but it’s too young and Page Rank is zero, the best ways of earn money from it are so.
1. Google Adsense. Adsense was made as universal advertising which is approaches for all traffic volumes. For example, the site about finance areas, like insurance or mortgage, which is has about 100 visitors per day, could bring you about $15 dollars everyday. The reason is in expensive clicks.
2. Bidvertiser. It is the advertising network that competes with Adsense. But the main advantage of it is low payout of $10. Big sites has no problem with it, but for small, which are still waiting for its magic $100 Adsense hit, it is very attractive.
3. Affiliate advertising. Another simplest and profitable way of site money making. You could register in one of the affiliate programs, such as Copeac, and find there a relevant product with banner according to your site’s subject. My advice to you: find some of free of charge advertising, for example free insurance quotes. You will receive income for every registered user.

100-1000 visitors. When you have a site with traffic volume of about thousand visitors, it is more simply to make money from it. Certainly, add Adsense, and here are some additional ways of its monetizing:
1. Text Link Ads. There are many people who want to promote their sites. Text Link Ads will help you and them to make money from it. It pays you $25 for every registered user.
2. ReviewMe. If your blog’s popularity increases and has necessary volume in it’s area, you can do small reviews of others blogs in your niche for money. ReviewMe is the intermediary in this area.
3. Advertising. At attendance more than 100 person per day, always will be the one who is ready to pay for advertising. For example, if you have a profitable niche, you could earn $100 for a small advertising banner on it.
4. Donations. It’s quite normal. Many blogs and websites earn a big income with donations. For example Steve Pavlina’s Personal Development blog make a big money with donations. If you help people in their problems, some of them want to thank you for this. Donations is a good deal for this purpose.

More than 1000 visitors per day. If you have more than thousand visitors, you could leave your offline work :). With clever monetization, you can earn about $3 thousands a month and even more. Lets look what ways of income could help you in this.
1. AuctionAds. It allows you to monetize your website by displaying live eBay auctions next to your related copy. The goal is that you will make more with AuctionAds than with directly with eBay affiliate program.
2. eChitica MiniMalls. You should have 50′000 visitors to your site or blog per month. It provides visitors with relevant content and comparative shopping information without even leaving your site. The revenue is quite good.
3. Kontera ContentLink. Their technology reads your post and turns certain words into an ad. It requires 500′000 views per month for being accepted to their program. But there is also partnership which is allow smaller blogs to use their ContentLink service.

There are much more ways to monetize your site or blog. Choice is for you. Look at this program, it will help you to manage, evaluate, and control your various ad networks.

Copeac is Most Popular Affiliate Networks

Amongst the most popular affiliate networks with performance marketers is Copeac. Short for "Communicate. Perform. Achieve", Copeac is a straight-shooter in that it is not known for any specific bells and whistles, but instead opts to focus on being a basic yet solid affiliate network.

Features
Copeac offers CPA (Cost-Per-Acquisition), CPS (Cost-Per-Sale), and CPC (Cost-Per-Click) and has a large and growing advertiser base which covers a wide spectrum of markets for publishers to choose from. However, they do lack offers in a few particular categories, as most affiliate networks do, and therefore it would be advised, as always, to use other networks in conjunction to Copeac.

Copeac is well known and regarded for their high payouts to publishers. In an industry as competitive as performance marketing, it is important for affiliate marketers to get as much as an edge as possible, and having access to high payouts is one of the biggest edges out there.

One basic yet satisfying feature Copeac possesses is keeping publishers logged-in indefinitely. The majority of affiliate marketers check their stats on a regular basis, yet most affiliate networks have a rather short session expiry time, forcing publishers to keep logging in. With Copeac, publishers remain logged-in and a browser refresh will instantly yield a quick update of the stats.

Another feature Copeac offers is a banner rotation tool. With this tool, publishers can choose to rotate a variety of different banners and offers within one snippet of code. This eliminates the need of installing a 3rd-party banner rotation system.

Control Panel
Like many affiliate networks, Copeac uses the DirectTrack software for their control panel, so new publishers to Copeac may already be familiar with the software.

They also offer an optional feature for bid management which tracks the actual keywords from the PPC search engine and the resulting conversions through Copeac. However, this feature isn't free at $79 a month for 50,000 actions and $0.002 per overage.

Rewards
Copeac offers its publishers Gift Cards as incentives. Currently they reward $50 once $25K is generated, $100 for $50K, $200 for $75, and $500 for $100K.
They also offer extra bonuses for super-affiliates who generate a lot of volume.

Signing Up
Registering with Copeac is fast and easy. One major perk when signing up with Copeac is that the mandatory W8/W9 tax forms that all affiliate networks require publishers to sign, are done electronically.

This means that all the publisher needs to do is type their name and agree to the legal tax form, and they’re done. There is no requirement to fax or snail mail the forms in, allowing publishers to start generating revenue right away. Other affiliate networks would greatly benefit if they adapted this method.

Referral Program
Copeac has a referral program and offers publishers 2% on every approved affiliate referred, for life.

This can be tracked via the control panel, which states how much is earned from referrals, how many referrals signed up, and the amount that each referral earns.

Payment
Currently, Copeac pays via Check or Wire and is scheduled to payout monthly. However, publishers that produce decent volume to Copeac can ask to be paid weekly.

The minimum payout threshold is set at $100.

Customer Support
Copeac’s customer support is superb, and ranks among the upper echelon of affiliate networks.
Each publisher is assigned their own private affiliate manager which is available Monday through Friday, and can be reached via E-mail, toll-free phone, and even instant messenger. Copeac understands the value of providing great customer support to its publishers, and is willing to help publishers in any way possible.

Publishers can even ask their affiliate managers for payout increases on offers if they are putting in a good effort on them, and Copeac is happy to oblige!

Summary
In conclusion, Copeac is definitely one of the best affiliate networks out there, and affiliate marketers are encouraged to sign up if they haven’t already done so.

Copeac's high-payouts, large selection of offers, and great customer support will keep them among the frontrunners for a long time to come.

How do I Make Money Online.

A lot of people are thinking about an opportunity of doing online business. If somebody 5 months ago told me, that internet could bring a good income, I laught about it. Today I can tell with the 100 percentage confidence, that earn money in internet is really true. There are tens or even hundreds ways of internet income. I want to give you some advices how not be scamed in your way of online money making.
Don’t belive in such slogans like “make money working 1 hour a day”. I don’t want to tell that internet business is hard work, it’s not. But before you will know all about internet money making, you will have to read a lot, about blogging, affiliate programs, search engine optimisation, traffic getting and many other things. Exept this, you will need to do your regular internet work, which could continue for a ten hours a day, until you stand up your business.
Now I want to write about some major channels of internet income on my own example.

Blogging. Don’t be afraid to create blogs. Several days ago I found out that one of my blogs, that I created about 4 months ago, is bringing me money from adsense. Do you know how it was? I did blog, posted 4 articles there and forgot about it for 4 months. Now it has about 20-25 unique visitors a day, I don’t know from where are they. I didn’t do any backlinks, just create it on Blogger. And know why it happens so? Early or later search engine robots will index your blog and in your posting text it could be such keyword that is very seldom. For example: one of my blogs bringing traffic thanks to this keyword - “Honda Civic interior design tips”.
My advice: create as many blogs as you can, post an unique content there and if you don’t have time for it just forget it for several months.

Affiliate Programs. Success in affiliate programs depends on time factor. 2 months ago I did about $2,000 a month from Copeac, June give me only $520. I don’t know what is hepenning, but instead of Copeac MaxBounty’s offers begin to work very well, and I finished month with $1,230 earning. It’s seasonable, I think.
Last time I trying to work only with long tail keywords. Know why? Because of it’s price. The keyword like “avoid bunkruptcy - eliminate debt today” costs much more cheaper than “debt elimination”. Yes, it will be less traffic, but it will be more targeted and much more cheaper. And as I wrote before, I’m using only exact phrases to avoid click fraud.
By the way, Text Link Ads makes me glad. They are paying $25 only for new user registering. I did 125$ from TLA last month.Well, don’t work with only one affiliate partner, be active in this sphere.

Shopping sites. My trading through my websites don’t have success until this moment. I don’t know why, may be because of all sites is still in Google’s sandbox, may be because of I’m doing something wrong… This channel brings me only $32. I’ll work on it, and will report in what is the reason.
Work, work and work one more time… These words I’m telling myself everyday. But time is catastrofically not enough. In future it would be actual to think about creating own small company :).
